Course Info
Founded in 1920, Prestbury was designed by Course Architect Harry Shapland Colt (1869-1951). Often described as the Sir Christopher Wren of golf course architects, his influence on course design is enormous. In 1934 Colt said of Prestbury - " Owing to the natural formation of the ground, the golf is, in my opinion, very interesting and the variety provided is excellent as every hole presents some distinct feature of an impressive character." Set in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, Prestbury "truly deserves the accolade of hidden gem" (Golf Monthly) and with its panoramic views of the Derbyshire Hills it will certainly provide the perfect setting for your golf day.
All visitors and visiting "societies" are always most welcome at the Club. Visitors, say up to groups of 4,are advised to book their visit in advance by telephoning the Professional's Shop (Tel. 01625 828242) to ensure that there is space on the course for them to play. There are "reserved members' times" when visitors can only play with a member and these times vary during summer and winter. Visitors, not playing with a member, are not allowed to play at weekends. Golfing Societies wishing to book their event should refer to the information below, or telephone the Secretary/Manager (Neville Young) - 01625 828241.
